We’re looking for our next Product Manager to join our growing custom software development team.

Ideal candidates have a demonstrated background in understanding and defining a product roadmap with an ability to guide and manage development teams in defining and executing on the product’s vision. We need talented people who thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with experience working directly with a variety of clients in a variety of industries managing competing priorities while maintaining strong client and team relationships.

Synapse Studios is a custom software development consultancy with clients in various stages of maturity that are seeking to accelerate their innovation by partnering with us. Product Managers are responsible for owning the entirety of the product development lifecycle including managing stakeholder and customer relationships, envisioning and documenting the product vision, maintaining and prioritizing a data-driven product roadmap, and ensuring consistent delivery of value in the form of functional software that delivers measurable results.

Product Managers work mostly autonomously and need a strong background and demonstrated comfort with written and verbal communication and have experience managing large-scale projects over a long period of time maintaining and building on strong client relationships by always pushing the innovation envelope. We work with enterprise-level clients, funded startups, and medium-sized businesses that can span multiple years, but we pride ourselves on shipping early and often, so someone with a drive to get things done and guide their teams on the way will really enjoy working here.

Candidates in this role will also collaborate frequently with UX and graphic designers, software developers, and quality assurance engineers, so while a background in these areas is not required, a comfort with these cross-functional disciplines and an open mind to hearing and learning from a variety of team members, will allow you to be the most successful in this role.

You’ll be critical in shaping and advancing the company’s culture, so we’re looking for a candidate that is as comfortable running a project as they are in keeping team morale high and ensuring project teams feel supported at every stage. Candidates in this role do best when you have a positive attitude, consultative spirit, courageousness, love diving into the details, and an ability to guide your clients and team in a manner that’s productive but keeps the teams engaged and excited to come to work and work with us every day.

Skills and Requirements:

  • 3+ years experience in account management, product management, senior project management, or similar capacity
  • Direct experience leading development teams in a product manager/owner capacity writing user stories, working with stakeholders, and managing roadmaps
  • People management experience is a plus as you will have direct reports and indirect reports in the form of your project teams
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and an ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Tech-savviness and a comfort with the use of technology tools to deliver customer experience and/or process improvement
  • A curious and skeptical nature with no fear of asking “why” or admitting uncertainty
  • A problem-solving approach to challenges with advanced critical thinking skills and an ability to weigh many possible solutions at once
  • An ability to work on multiple products concurrently with a passion for driving continuous delivery and iteration with an understanding of the Agile and Scrum frameworks of software development
  • Exceptionally detail oriented and organized with demonstrated time management and delegation skills
  • A desire to constantly learn and improve, just like the products we create
